95. 145. Aggiss’ ini (254)

[Aggissa + ini = 2 words]

Aggiss’ antassa ini hoti vā simhi vibhattimhi.

Purato aggini. Pacchato aggini. Akkhiṇato aggini. Vāmato aggini.

Vā ti kimatthaṃ? Aggi.

‘Ini’ of [the end vowel of] “aggi”.
Optionally, when the inflection ‘si’ follows, there is ‘ini’ of the end vowel of “aggi”.
  1. Aggini = aggi + si (‘i’ of “aggi” becomes ‘ini’ (§95); ‘si’ is elided (§220)).

What is the purpose of saying “optionally”? [This sutta does not always apply, such as in] aggi.

Without the footnotes: they are on the chapter card.
