Aṃ byañjane niggahitaṃ

When a consonant follows, the niggahita ‘ṃ’.

30. 58. Aṃ byañjane niggahitaṃ (153)

[Aṃ + byañjane + niggahitaṃ = 3 words]

Niggahitaṃ kho byañjane pare aṃ iti hoti.

Evaṃ vutte (Vin. i, 7), taṃ sādhū ti paṭissuṇitvā (DhA. i, 30).

When a consonant follows, the niggahita ‘ṃ’.
When a consonant follows, the niggahita becomes ‘ṃ’.
Examples: “Evaṃ vutte”, “taṃ sādhū ti paṭissuṇitvā”.

Taṃ sādhū ti: taṃ sādhū ti (§30)
