254. 274. Imasmā ha-dhā ca (503)

[Imasmā + ha-dhā + ca = 3 words]

Imasmā ha dha icc ete paccayā honti sattamyatthe.

Iha, idha.

Caggahaṇam avadhāraṇatthaṃ.

And after “ima” [there are] ‘ha’ and ‘dha’.
In the meaning of the seventh [inflection], after “ima” there are the suffixes ‘ha’ and ‘dha’.
  1. Iha = ima + ha (‘ha’ is used in the meaning of the seventh inflection (§254); “ima” is substituted by ‘i’ (§234)).
  2. Idha = ima + dha (‘dha’ is used in the meaning of the seventh inflection (§254); “ima” is substituted by ‘i’ (§234)).

The taking of “ca” is for restricting [the scope of this sutta with respect to words other than “ima”].

Without the footnotes: they are on the chapter card.
