[Smiṃ + e = 2 words]

Tasmā sakhato smiṃvacanassa ekāro hoti.

Sakhe.

‘Smiṃ’ [becomes] ‘e’.
After “sakha”, the inflection ‘smiṃ’ becomes the letter ‘e’.
  1. Sakhe = sakha + smiṃ (‘smiṃ’ is substituted by ‘e’ (§192); ‘a’ of “sakha” is elided (§83)).
