And [there is] ‘a’ of the end [vowel] of “kamma”.
Optionally, when the inflection ‘nā’ follows, the end vowel of “kamma” is substituted by ‘u’ or ‘a’.
  1. Kammunā = kamma + nā (‘a’ of “kamma” is substituted by ‘u’ (§160)).
  2. Kammanā = kamma + nā (‘a’ of “kamma” is substituted by ‘a’ (§160)).

By taking “ca”, sometimes, when the inflections ‘nā’ and ‘su’ follow, the end vowel of “maghava”, “yuva”, etc., is substituted by ‘ā’.

  1. Maghavānā = maghava + nā (by “ca”, ‘a’ of “maghava” is substituted by ‘ā’ (§160)).

Without the footnotes: they are on the chapter card.
