[Āne + smiṃmhi + vā = 3 words]

Puma icc evam antassa savibhattissa āne-ādeso hoti vā smiṃmhi vibhattimhi.

Pumāne, pume vā.

Optionally, when ‘smiṃ’ follows, ‘āne’.
Optionally, when the inflection ‘smiṃ’ follows, the end vowel of “puma” together with the inflection is substituted by ‘āne’.
  1. Pumāne = puma + smiṃ (‘a’ of “puma” together with the inflection ‘smiṃ’ is substituted by ‘āne’ (§156)).
