Bahuvacanesu vo no

151. 250. Bahuvacanesu vo no (329)

[Bahuvacanesu + vo-no = 2 words]

Sabbesaṃ tumha-amhasaddānaṃ savibhattīnaṃ yadā padasmā paresaṃ vo-no-ādesā honti yathāsaṅkhyaṃ tatiyābahuvacanesu paresu.

Kataṃ vo kammaṃ, kataṃ no kammaṃ.

In the plural, “vo” and “no”.
When the third plural inflection follows, the whole words “tumha” and “amha”, when they come after a word, together with the inflections, are substituted by “vo” and “no” respectively.
  1. Vo = tumha + hi (“tumha” together with the third plural inflection ‘hi’ is substituted by “vo” (§151)).
  2. No = amha + hi (“amha” together with the third plural inflection ‘hi’ is substituted by “no” (§151)).

“Kataṃ vo kammaṃ” (the action done by you).

“Kataṃ no kammaṃ” (the action done by us).
