Text and translation
Read in the chapter →412. 437. Amhe uttamo (871)
Amhe payujjamāne pi appayujjamāne pi tulyādhikaraṇe uttamapuriso hoti.
Ahaṃ yajāmi, mayaṃ yajāma.
Appayujjamāne pi: Yajāmi, yajāma.
Tulyādhikaraṇe ti kimatthaṃ? Mayā ijjate Buddho.
- Ahaṃ yajāmi (I sacrifice), mayaṃ yajāma (we sacrifice).
Also when it is not used:
- Yajāmi ([I] sacrifice), yajāma ([we] sacrifice).
What is the purpose of saying “tulyādhikaraṇe” (that has the same locus)? To prevent the operation of this rule when there is not the same locus, as in the following example: Mayā ijjate Buddho (the Buddha is honored by me).
Without the footnotes: they are on the chapter card.
