Dvādito ko ’nekatthe ca

And in the meaning of multiplicity, [there is] ‘ka’ after “dvi” and others.

[Dvi-ādito + ko + aneka-atthe + ca = 4 words]

Dvi icc evamādito kapaccayo hoti anekatthe ca, nipātanā sijjhanti.

Satassa dvikaṃ dvisataṃ, satassa tikaṃ tisataṃ, satassa catukkaṃ catusataṃ, satassa pañcakaṃ pañcasataṃ, satassa chakkaṃ chasataṃ, satassa sattakaṃ sattasataṃ, satassa aṭṭhakaṃ aṭṭhasataṃ, satassa navakaṃ navasataṃ, satassa dasakaṃ dasasataṃ, sahassaṃ (JA. i, 138) hoti.

And in the meaning of multiplicity, [there is] ‘ka’ after “dvi” and others.
And in the meaning of multiplicity (aneka), there is the suffix ‘ka’ after “dvi” (two) and others; they are accomplished by the sutta “nipātanā”.
  1. Satassa dvikaṃ: dvisataṃ (two groups of one hundred: two hundred).
  2. Satassa tikaṃ: tisataṃ (three hundred).
  3. Satassa catukkaṃ: catusataṃ (four hundred).
  4. Satassa pañcakaṃ: pañcasataṃ (five hundred).
  5. Satassa chakkaṃ: chasataṃ (six hundred).
  6. Satassa sattakaṃ: sattasataṃ (seven hundred).
  7. Satassa aṭṭhakaṃ: aṭṭhasataṃ (eight hundred).
  8. Satassa navakaṃ: navasataṃ (nine hundred).
  9. Satassa dasakaṃ: dasasataṃ, sahassaṃ (ten groups of one hundred: one thousand).
