Tapādito sī

[Tapa-ādito + sī = 2 words]

Tapādito sīpaccayo hoti “tad ass’ atthi” icc etasmiṃ atthe.

Tapo yassa atthi, tasmiṃ vā vijjatī ti tapassī (Vin. i, 3). Evaṃ yasassī (D. i, 45), tejassī (Khu. v, 73).

After “tapa” (austerity) and others, [there is] ‘sī’.
After “tapa” (austerity) and others, there is the suffix ‘sī’ in this meaning: “there is this of him”.
  1. Tapo yassa atthi, tasmiṃ vā vijjatī ti tapassī (there is austerity of/in him, or [austerity] exists in him: an ascetic).

Likewise:

  1. Yaso yassa atthi, tasmiṃ vā vijjatī ti yasassī (there is fame of/in him, or [fame] exists in him: a famous one).
  2. Tejo yassa atthi, tasmiṃ vā vijjatī ti tejassī (there is power of/in him, or [power] exists in him: a powerful one).
