Ṇya-tta-tā bhāve tu

[There are] ‘ṇya’, ‘tta’ and ‘tā’ in [the meaning of] state.

[Ṇya-tta-tā + bhāve + tu = 3 words]

Ṇya-tta-tā icc ete paccayā honti bhāvatthe.

Alasassa bhāvo ālasyaṃ (A. iii, 364), arogassa bhāvo ārogyaṃ (D. i, 69). Paṃsukūlikassa bhāvo paṃsukūlikattaṃ (A. i, 40), anodarikassa bhāvo anodarikattaṃ (A. ii, 105). Saṅgaṇikārāmassa bhāvo saṅgaṇikārāmatā (A. ii, 102, 273), niddārāmassa bhāvo niddārāmatā (A. ii, 102, 273).

Tuggahaṇena ttanapaccayo hoti. Puthujjanattanaṃ, vedanattanaṃ.

[There are] ‘ṇya’, ‘tta’ and ‘tā’ in [the meaning of] state.
There are the suffixes ‘ṇya’, ‘tta’ and ‘tā’ in the meaning of state (bhāva).
  1. Alasassa bhāvo: ālasyaṃ (the state of the lazy one: laziness).
  2. Arogassa bhāvo: ārogyaṃ (the state of one without disease: health).
  3. Paṃsukūlikassa bhāvo: paṃsukūlikattaṃ (the state of one who wears the rag-robe).
  4. Anodarikassa bhāvo: anodarikattaṃ (the state of one who is not gluttonous).
  5. Saṅgaṇikārāmassa bhāvo: saṅgaṇikārāmatā (the state of one who delights in company: gregariousness).
  6. Niddārāmassa bhāvo: niddārāmatā (the state of one who delights in sleep: sleepiness).

By taking ‘tu’, there is the suffix ‘ttana’.

  1. Puthujjanattanaṃ (the state of the worldling).
  2. Vedanattanaṃ (the state of feeling).
