Gāma-jana-bandhu-sahāyādīhi tā

After “gāma” (village), “jana” (people), “bandhu” (relative), “sahāya” (companion) and others, [there is] ‘tā’.

355. 380. Gāma-jana-bandhu-sahāyādīhi tā (771)

[Gāma-jana-bandhu-sahāya-ādīhi + tā = 2 words]

Gāma jana bandhu sahāya icc evamādīhi tāpaccayo hoti samūhatthe.

Gāmānaṃ samūho gāmatā. Evaṃ janatā (Khu. ii, 174; BuA. 228), bandhutā, sahāyatā, nagaratā.

After “gāma” (village), “jana” (people), “bandhu” (relative), “sahāya” (companion) and others, [there is] ‘tā’.
In the meaning of aggregation, after “gāma” (village), “jana” (people), “bandhu” (relative), “sahāya” (companion) and others, there is the suffix ‘tā’.
  1. Gāmānaṃ samūho gāmatā (an aggregation of villages).

Likewise:

  1. janatā (an aggregation of people).
  2. bandhutā (an aggregation of relatives).
  3. sahāyatā (an aggregation of companions).
  4. nagaratā (an aggregation of cities).
