Tā amādayo nāmehi parapadebhi yadā samasyante, tadā so samāso tappurisasañño hoti.

Bhūmiṃ gato bhūmigato (M. ii, 258; S. i, 102); sabbarattiṃ sobhaṇo sabbarattisobhaṇo; apāyaṃ gato apāyagato; issarena kataṃ issarakataṃ; sallena viddho sallaviddho (M. ii, 92; Khu. vii, 4); kathinassa dussaṃ kathinadussaṃ (Vin. iii, 352); āgantukassa bhattaṃ āgantukabhattaṃ (Vin. iii, 406); methunā apeto methunāpeto; corā bhayaṃ corabhayaṃ; rañño putto rājaputto (D. i, 49; Khu. iii, 205); Dhaññānaṃ rāsi dhaññarāsi; rūpe saññā rūpasaññā (A. iii, 211); saṃsāre dukkhaṃ saṃsāradukkhaṃ.

‘Aṃ’, etc., with the following nouns.
When the [inflections] ‘aṃ’, etc., are compounded with the nouns [that are] following members, then that compound has the name “tappurisa” (determinative compound).
  1. Bhūmiṃ gato bhūmigato (gone to the earth).
  2. Sabbarattiṃ sobhaṇo sabbarattisobhaṇo (beautiful for the whole night).
  3. Apāyaṃ gato apāyagato (gone to hell).
  4. Issarena kataṃ issarakataṃ (made by the creator).
  5. Sallena viddho sallaviddho (pierced by an arrow).
  6. Kathinassa dussaṃ kathinadussaṃ (a cloth for Kathina).
  7. Āgantukassa bhattaṃ āgantukabhattaṃ (a meal for the guest).
  8. Methunā apeto methunāpeto (one who refrains from sexual intercourse).
  9. Corā bhayaṃ corabhayaṃ (fear or danger from thieves).
  10. Rañño putto rājaputto (son of the king).
  11. Dhaññānaṃ rāsi dhaññarāsi (a heap of grain).
  12. Rūpe saññā rūpasaññā (perception in form).
  13. Saṃsāre dukkhaṃ saṃsāradukkhaṃ (the suffering in the round of rebirths).
