Vuḍḍhassa jo iy’-iṭṭhesu

When ‘iya’ and ‘iṭṭha’ follow, [there is] ‘jo’ of “vuḍḍha”.

262. 391. Vuḍḍhassa jo iy’-iṭṭhesu (513)

[Vuḍḍhassa + jo + iya-iṭṭhesu = 3 words]

Sabbass’ eva vuḍḍhasaddassa jo-ādeso hoti iya iṭṭha icc etesu paccayesu.

Jeyyo, jeṭṭho (D. ii, 13).

When ‘iya’ and ‘iṭṭha’ follow, [there is] ‘jo’ of “vuḍḍha”.
When the suffixes ‘iya’ and ‘iṭṭha’ follow, the whole word “vuḍḍha” is substituted by “jo”.
